What it does
The system automates planting decisions: sensors read soil and environment data, the back end stores and evaluates it, and the hardware acts on the result without a person in the loop.
My part
I led the back-end work and built the hardware around it:
- Designed the back-end services that collect sensor readings and drive the planting logic.
- Built the physical automated planting rig and wired it to the control software.
- Handled the serial communication layer between the hardware and the AI processing.
Result
1st place in the 2024 edition for Core AI back-end development, after competing in 2023 with an earlier version of the project.
